Yoke Hiong has 28 years of experience in community-based nursing for older persons, specialising in home-based healthcare. She oversees the professional development of the nurses in Tsao Foundation, provides direction to the nursing healthcare practice in Singapore, and conducts overseas training to community healthcare professionals. She also leads the development and implementation of the Foundation's Specialist Diploma in Community Gerontological Nursing programme with Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

The Vice President of the International Home Care Nursing Organization sits in various committees in Singapore – a member of the Ministry of Health Care Team Education Workgroup under the disease management workgroup on diabetes; member of the community dietetic group, and member of Community of Practice for national care assessment on the use of InterRai.

Graduated as a State Registered Nurse in 1985, Yoke Hiong has trained in Nursing Elderly People (Oxford School of Nursing, U.K.), and Ophthalmic Nursing (Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary, U.K.), and holds a Master in Gerontology (King’s College, London, U.K.). She obtained her Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Adelaide.
